Sam's career spans twenty-five years of IC business development and design experience. Sam's design expertise encompasses RF high-speed/wide bandwidth chipsets for DVB/DSS and VSAT transceivers in 25GHz-ft bipolar and 10GHz-ft BiCMOS technologies. These chipsets included direct-to-base band transceivers, I/Q demodulators, sigma-delta ADCs, multi-GHz PLLs, high-speed multi-modulus prescalers. In addition to system modeling, he has extensive experience in software, device modeling and process flows. He transitioned to wire-line technologies in 1997 to work on ADSL/VDSL technologies. This transition involved design of IC chips and subsystems for wireline-applications. Critical circuits include high speed PLLs, timing recovery blocks, high speed DACs, Line Drivers, BIST, low noise gain elements, filters, interface circuits, etc. In addition to circuit design, Sam leads IC design, device modeling and process engineering teams. His skillset combines IC design with simulator development to create next generation simulators to address the challenges of super-fast circuits at nano-scale technology nodes.
